The Pupil Premium is additional funding allocated to schools by the Department for Education.
The Pupil Premium is calculated according to: the number of children from low-income families who are known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) now or at any point in the last 6 years; who have been Looked After Children (LAC); and Service children. This equates to 43% of primary learners and 65% of secondary learners at The Grange Academy. As a school, we continually strive to ensure that teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of all our students and appropriate provision is in place for those who need it most. This funding enables us to focus on some of our most vulnerable learners, utilising different strategies that promote progress, achievement and development. All schools are held accountable for how the Pupil Premium has been used and measures are included in the performance tables that capture the achievement of our students.
The Pupil Premium will be an additional £1,345 (Primary) £955 (secondary) for each eligible pupil, £2340 for CiC and those previously looked after who are now adopted or subject to a residential order or under special guardianship. The school will receive £310 for each student whose parents / carers serve in the armed forces.
At The Grange we are committed to providing effective resources, strategies and support to improve the academic outcomes for disadvantaged students.
